Lite Cigarette Lawsuits
Most cigarette lawsuits differ from client to client. A vast majority of the time the client at hand is trying to uphold the respect for other people's, and their own human rights and health. Others may hold a case because they have lost a loved one due to the negligence placed at hand by a cigarette company, be it by introducing a new chemical or failing to place warning on packets. In both respects though, cigarette lawsuits are becoming more and more used each day because of the danger people are realizing they are doing to their body.
However there is only so much that can be done at any one time, the first act, which was taken into hand years ago, was to stop the promotion of cigarette smoking (light or otherwise) in public media. The second was to protect human rights and try to lower lawsuits by preventing smoking in public areas. Through doing this it is becoming difficult to market cigarettes to people and more of society is giving up. However this will make it increasingly more difficult to make a strong case if your company is unable to make money because of these two laws.
Despite this though, there is always a chance that you can win a case if the company has shown negligence towards its customers. Say if a close relative or friend died because a light cigarette company failed to place warning of the illnesses it can cause (a very serious crime nowadays) or failed to place information about a new chemical located in the cigarette, you could claim negligence from the company for not looking after their customers, a blow which many companies cannot afford to let happen.
